Photoshoot Outfit Ideas for a Strong Personal Brand

If you’re doing a brand photoshoot, you need a photoshoot plan. This plan should include a strategically-chosen outfit that aligns with your brand.
I’m opening my “closet” to share my favorite photoshoot outfit ideas for all kinds of bodies, including mid-size queens like me. When deciding which pieces to share, I considered:
- Comfort - How comfortable is the piece during a long photoshoot or work day?
- Versatility - Is it transitional? Can you use it for professional meetings, play, and casual work days in the office?
- Range of color options and prints - Is there a wide range of colors to match brand palettes?
- Style - Is the style current? How easily can you style the piece to create an updated look that reflects your brand?
- Flattering fit and cut - How flattering is the piece on most bodies?
- “Photogenic-ness” - Okay, this isn’t a word, but how well does the piece photograph?
- Confidence-boosting Factor - Does the piece help you feel good in your skin? Do you feel like you can shine in it?
- Economics: Does the item offer good quality at an economical price?
Before I open my “closet,” I want to quickly touch on the importance of brand photos and how good ones can make your social media marketing much more effortless.
The Importance of Brand Photos for Online Entrepreneurs
Branding photos are like currency when marketing online. They’re the visual identity of your business, communicating its essence and values. They help form a “first impression” and help potential clients or customers build trust.
We also need them to create consistency and recognition across various platforms, from our websites to our chosen social media platforms.
Wearing branded clothing is an essential part of your brand photos. A well-chosen, branded outfit strengthens and helps create a strong personal brand. It enables you to be authentic and stand out in a chaotic and crowded online world.
With this in mind, consider using your brand photoshoot outfit to emphasize your brand, relatability, and memorability. My outfit ideas should give you tons of inspiration and choices in this area. I also hope it also saves you lots of time!
Branding Photoshoot Outfit Ideas
The links below are affiliate links. Feel free to use them or not. It’s totally up to you!
1. Pleated Chiffon Skirt by Grace Karin
Grace Karin clothing always makes me feel ridiculously good. I get tons of compliments when I wear this skirt, no matter which top I match with it. Depending on your shirt and footwear choices, you can dress this skirt up or down. You can work or play in it - or both! I grabbed a navy one to match my brand colors and a tan one for going out.
2. Vintage A-line Dress by Yathon
A-lines are universally flattering, and I love them. Plus, this one has pockets! It's a win-win and will help you feel comfy and elegant for a big branding photoshoot. Swish around and get playful - this dress has you covered. I have three different versions of this dress :)
3. Ked Sneakers
Depending on your brand vibe, these may not be a good option for your photos. If you like them, pluses are lots of color choices and comfy feet throughout a photoshoot. I also enjoy wearing them with casual dresses for an informal and cozy workday. In addition, they’re good for helping me integrate movement and impromptu stress-relief walks into workdays.
- The shoes run narrow, so if you have wider feet like me, size up or find a wide version.
4. Long Sleeve Knit Cropped Sweater by Pink Queen
I love a sassy crop sweater with leggings. It accentuates my hourglass figure more, highlighting my waist versus other areas I may not want to accentuate. This cutie is my go-to sweater right now because it’s lightweight and keeps the chill away while I work in my office. Gotta love a top that does double-duty for everyday work and a branding photoshoot.
5. Short-Sleeve Casual V Neck Dress by Weaczzy
This super-lightweight dress is lovely for a spring photoshoot, especially with all its floral options. It also has several color options, so you can easily find one that aligns with your branding. It’s a bit thin and can get a little low in the neckline (easily remedied with a quick safety pin), so be sure to wear lighter colors underneath. I currently have pink and yellow!
6. Midi Summer Dress with Swiss Dots and Ruffled V-Neck by PrettyGarden
I LOVE this dress! It’s not a full A-line as described. It’s more like a maxi dress with an A-line belt or a Grecian-style hybrid. It’s comfy, flirty, and flowing, and I get so many compliments when I wear it.
7. Cold-Shoulder Long Sleeve Tunic Blouse by Jinkesi
This versatile top is a “shirt trifecta” (says me:)
The fabric is super soft, washes easily, and is stylish enough to mix and match with nice pants or jeans. I purchased an extra large, and it was a little too big. You may want to size it down unless you want an oversized look or feel for your photoshoot.
8. Work Pencil Dress by Grace Karin
This is perfect for those who want an upscale, classy vibe. The duo-color dress is a flattering wrap-around with a V-neck and beautiful color combinations. The fabric is smooth and a little stretchy in all the right places, which I always appreciate. You can pull a snazzy jacket or sweater over it for a completely different look.
9. Elegant Vintage Dress by Helyo
Can you tell I’m into A-line cuts?
This one features pockets and a structured French neckline. Lots of color and print options expand our previous A-Line options, so we have even more choices. My dress is over a year old. I’ve worn it tons and had zero washing or fraying issues.
10. Stretchy, High-Waist Ankle Pants by Floerns
I usually buy pants from Express, but these cute pants belong in our economic “Amazon” list. I prefer a tapered leg to bring the line to a point. These look most similar to what I find at Express. Forgiving fabric and a stretchy banded waist (no zippers or buttons!) make these pants very comfortable. They also have massive versatility points because they can be styled in so many different ways for a branding photoshoot.
Which photoshoot outfit ideas do you like most? Which items or colors will help you shine and build a strong personal brand on social media? Your brand photos are one of your most valuable assets - make them unforgettable, and don’t forget to “do you!”
